Forklift Parts & Components

Your forklift’s down. You need parts now, not next week. We get it—every hour that machine sits idle is money you’re losing.

GP Forklifts stocks genuine and aftermarket parts for pretty much every forklift brand out there. Been doing this for 7 years, and we’ve learned one thing: businesses don’t have time to mess around waiting for parts that should’ve been in stock from day one. That’s why we keep what you actually need on hand, not just what looks good in a catalogue

What we actually do:

  • Stock both genuine OEM and decent aftermarket parts
  • Help you figure out what you actually need (not just what’s most expensive)
  • Get parts to you fast—like, actually fast
  • Price things fairly without the usual markup nonsense

What We Stock (and Why It Matters)

Look, forklifts have a lot of moving parts. Hundreds, actually. And when something breaks, you need to know what you’re dealing with. Here’s what we keep in stock and why each bit matters to keeping your operation running.

01

Engine and Power Stuff

This is what makes the whole thing run. We’ve got engine bits for diesel, LPG, and electric forklifts—filters (oil, fuel, air), spark plugs, batteries, alternators, all of it. Electric models need battery cells, chargers, and the electrical bits that keep them going. And with load shedding being what it is in South Africa, having reliable batteries isn’t just nice to have—it’s keeping your business running when Eskom decides to take a break.

02

Hydraulic Parts

Without hydraulics working right, your forklift’s just an expensive paperweight. We stock hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, fittings, seals—everything that makes the lifting happen. These parts deal with massive pressure, so getting the specs right isn’t optional. Use the wrong one and you’re looking at either a busted machine or a safety issue. Our guys help you match the exact part to your model so you don’t end up with an expensive mistake sitting in your workshop

03

Mast and Carriage Bits

That’s the vertical bit that actually lifts your loads. Inside there are chains, rollers, guide wheels, carriage assemblies—tons of parts that take a beating every single day. Especially if you’re running heavy loads or long shifts. These things wear out, and when they do, you want to catch it before the whole assembly fails. We’ve seen what happens when someone ignores a worn chain. Not pretty.

OEM or Aftermarket? Here's the Deal

You’ll ask yourself this every time you need parts: pay extra for original manufacturer parts or save money with aftermarket?

Honestly? Both work, just depends on what you need.

OEM parts

(that’s the original manufacturer stuff) cost more. Sometimes a lot more. But you know for sure they’ll fit exactly right. For the important safety bits, or complicated assemblies, or if your forklift’s still under warranty—yeah, go OEM. You’re paying for precision and zero compatibility headaches.

Electrical and Control Bits

Modern forklifts have gotten complicated. Switches, sensors, relays, gauges, lights, control panels—loads of electrical stuff keeping everything running.

Brakes

Kind of important, right? Brake pads, shoes, drums, hydraulic brake bits—we’ve got them all. Brakes take a real hammering in our conditions.

Battery testing and care

For electric forklifts, we ensure batteries are fully functional and properly charged.

Get Your Parts Sorted

Your forklift’s sitting there doing nothing. Let’s fix that.

Whether it’s a basic filter for routine maintenance or something critical that’s got your machine completely stopped, we’ll get you what you need. Parts, advice, quick turnaround—that’s what we do.

How This Works

01

Step 1: Tell Us What You Need

Call, email, or fill in the form—whatever’s easier. Give us your forklift’s make, model, serial number if you’ve got it, and what’s gone wrong.

02

Step 2: We Figure Out the Right Part and Price It

Our techs check what the right part is for your specific model and whether we’ve got it in stock. Then we send you a quote with the part details, price, when we can get it to you.

03

Step 3: You Confirm and We Get It Ready

Once you’re happy with the quote, confirm your order and sort payment. EFT, card, or if you’re an account customer it goes on the monthly statement. Stock items get prepped for dispatch right after payment clears. Special orders take longer—we’ll tell you upfront how long and keep you updated.

04

Step 4: We Ship It and Follow Up

Parts go out with a courier and you get tracking info. When it arrives, we’re here if you’ve got installation questions. We don’t do the fitting ourselves, but we can point you to good techs in your area if you need that. And we check back to make sure the part sorted your problem.

Ignoring these signs can lead to major failures and safety hazards.

Questions People Ask

Yeah, pretty much. Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Linde, Nissan, Clark, Mitsubishi, Caterpillar—all the main ones. Less common brands or really old models, we’ve got sourcing networks to track down what you need. Just tell us what make and model you’ve got and we’ll let you know.

Stock items in Gauteng often go same day if you order before lunch. Other big cities usually within 48 hours. If it’s properly urgent, call us straight away—we push emergency orders to the front and can sometimes arrange courier pickup for fastest delivery. Special orders take longer but we’ll tell you upfront what’s realistic.

Yep. OEM parts come with the manufacturer’s standard warranty (usually 3-12 months depending what it is). Decent aftermarket stuff comes with 3-6 month warranties. We back everything we sell. Something’s faulty? We replace it quickly and sort the warranty claim.

That’s half our job. Have your forklift’s make, model, and serial number handy, tell us what’s going wrong. We ask questions to narrow down what’s likely causing it and what part you actually need. Done this hundreds of times. Usually can sort it over the phone.

OEM is straight from your forklift’s manufacturer. Guaranteed exact match but costs more. Aftermarket is made by other companies to meet the same standards—cheaper but still does the job. OEM makes sense for safety stuff, complicated bits, or if your machine’s under warranty. Aftermarket’s fine for things that wear out regularly. We’ll tell you which makes sense for what you’re buying.
