For indoor use on hard, flat surfaces — which is where most 500x8 forklifts spend their lives — solid tyres are almost always the better choice. They eliminate puncture risk entirely, they're lower maintenance, and they work out cheaper over a full tyre lifecycle. Pneumatic tyres make more sense when you're dealing with rough or uneven terrain, but in a warehouse context, solid is the standard for good reason.
