Germiston’s industrial belt runs on heavy metal, literally. Scrap yards, foundries and steel stockholding sites across Wadeville, Meadowdale, Denver and Elandsfontein put forklift tyres through conditions most warehouses never see. If you’re looking for tyres that can actually survive a Germiston yard, you’re in the right place.
At GP Forklift, we supply and fit solid, pneumatic and polyurethane tyres on-site across Germiston, matched to what your yard actually throws at them rather than what a catalogue assumes.
We’re open Monday to Thursday, 7:30–17:00, and Friday 7:30–14:00; closed weekends. Every order is dispatched from our facility at 47 Harris Avenue, Sebenza, Edenvale.
01
Solid tyres stand up to swarf and metal off-cuts that would shred a standard pneumatic.
02
Prevents tipping when handling dense steel and scrap loads.
03
Fewer unplanned stops mean fewer delays getting stock out the gate.
04
Fewer replacements over time despite the harsher conditions.
Solid tyres are the default choice across most of Germiston’s scrap and steel handling sites, and for good reason. They’re close to puncture-proof, which matters when the ground is covered in off-cuts.
For most Germiston operators dealing with sharp debris underfoot, solid tyres are the sensible starting point.
Not every Germiston site is a scrap yard. Where forklifts are working uneven outdoor ground without the same puncture risk, pneumatic tyres offer better shock absorption and a smoother ride.
For the indoor, lighter-manufacturing pockets within Germiston’s mixed industrial sites, polyurethane tyres are usually the better fit, particularly on electric forklifts.
Our tyres are compatible with a wide array of forklift brands, ensuring that your equipment gets the reliability and performance it deserves. We stock tyres for leading manufacturers, including but not limited to:
Whether you’re managing a fleet of Toyota forklifts or a smaller operation with Manitou machines, our team is here to help you find tyres that are a perfect match for your equipment.
By offering this extensive compatibility and range of sizes, we aim to be your go-to partner for forklift tyres in Johannesburg. Let GP Forklift keep your machines rolling and your operations smooth.
Make sure the tyre is rated for your heaviest regular loads, not just the average.
Scrap and off-cut debris call for solids. Uneven outdoor gravel favours pneumatics.
We offer options across price points without cutting corners on safety.
Solid tyres generally mean fewer callouts over time on rough industrial ground.
Our team can walk your site and recommend the right combination rather than guessing from a spec sheet.
We’re not the only tyre supplier on the East Rand, but here’s what sets us apart for Germiston operators specifically:
Our Edenvale base is a short run from Wadeville, Meadowdale, Denver and Elandsfontein.
We know which Germiston sites need heavy-duty solids from day one.
Competitive rates without compromising on tyre quality.
No need to pull your forklift off site. We come to you.

We recently had to do some major repairs to our forklift. Bob and the team at GP forklifts were absolutely unreal in their service and communication. The forklift was repaired at a very reasonable price and great care and effort was put into repairing everything and I'm quite convinced that the forklift is now running better than when we bought it new. Thanks to Bob and his team!![]()

Great people, on site service, No time wasted! Good job guys!
Most standard sizes are fitted on-site the same day or next business day, since Germiston sits close to our Edenvale base. Uncommon sizes for older or imported machines may take longer while we source stock.
Yes, our mobile fitting team works across Germiston’s industrial areas including Wadeville, Meadowdale, Denver and Elandsfontein, so your forklift doesn’t need to leave the site
Heavy-duty solid tyres are the standard choice for scrap metal, steel and general heavy industrial handling, since punctures from swarf and off-cuts are a constant risk with pneumatics.
It’s not something we’d generally recommend on driven axles, as mismatched tyre types affect handling and wear differently. We’ll advise on the right combination for your specific machine.
Look for cracking, chunks missing from solid tyres, or tread worn below 3mm on pneumatics. If you’re unsure, we can inspect your fleet and advise honestly on what needs attention now versus what can wait.
Don’t let worn tyres slow down a yard that can’t afford to stop. GP Forklift supplies and fits tyres built for Germiston’s toughest industrial conditions, with local response times that keep downtime to a minimum.
