A flat tyre on a Doosan forklift doesn’t wait for a convenient moment. Neither do we.
GP Forklifts supplies pneumatic, solid, and cushion tyres for the full Doosan range — counterbalance, reach truck, electric, diesel — and we’ve been doing it long enough to know which sizes cause the most headaches and where operators usually go wrong when they’re trying to sort it quickly. Fifty-three years of collective experience in the forklift industry. That’s not a tagline. It’s just how long we’ve been at this.
Whether you’ve got one Doosan unit sitting on a loading bay or a mixed fleet spread across a Gauteng warehouse, call us. We’ll sort out the tyre spec, give you a straight price, and tell you when it’s available.
Doosan builds across a serious weight spread — compact 1.5-tonne warehouse machines up to 8-tonne heavy industrial units. The tyre requirements shift significantly across that range depending on load, surface, and whether the machine runs indoors, outdoors, or both. We stock and source across all three tyre categories you’ll find on Doosan equipment.
If the machine works on gravel yards, construction sites, or anywhere that isn’t a smooth concrete floor, pneumatic is almost certainly what you need. Air-filled, better ride, good traction on broken ground. Most Doosan diesel counterbalance units in the 2- to 5-tonne class come out of the factory on pneumatics for exactly that reason.
Common pneumatic dimensions for Doosan forklifts:
No punctures. No pressure checks. No losing a machine to a slow leak at the worst possible time. Solid tyres cost more upfront but in a busy warehouse or distribution centre running double shifts, they more than pay for themselves. They handle heavier loads without any of the pressure-loss problems you get with pneumatics, and in a controlled environment they’ll outlast them comfortably.
Common solid dimensions for Doosan forklifts:
Cushion tyres are pressed directly onto the rim — solid rubber, lower profile than a pneumatic. That lower ride height gives operators better sightlines in tight aisles, and on a smooth concrete floor they handle cleanly. Most Doosan electric and LPG models built for warehouse work come set up for cushions, and it’s the right choice when you’re not going anywhere near an outdoor surface.
Common cushion dimensions for Doosan:
We’ve watched businesses buy the wrong tyre, realise it six months later when they’re replacing it again, and work out that they spent more than if they’d just called us first. The wrong tyre on a Doosan doesn’t only wear out faster. It affects handling. It puts more strain on the axles and mast. It bumps fuel consumption on diesel units. And if traction is compromised because someone specced an indoor cushion on a gravel yard, that’s not a maintenance problem anymore — it’s a safety one.
When you call us, we’ll ask about your working surface, the load you’re running, how many hours the machine does per shift, and whether it goes outside at all. Those answers change the recommendation. Running a Doosan D30 on a construction site in Germiston is a different conversation to running a Doosan electric reach truck in a Midrand cold store.

There are plenty of tyre suppliers in South Africa. Most of them sell general tyres with a forklift section somewhere in the catalogue. GP Forklifts is different — the forklift industry is all we do. Our team doesn’t carry across from car tyres or truck tyres or agricultural equipment. Everything we know is forklift-specific, which means when we recommend a tyre compound or a size, it’s based on actual knowledge of how that machine loads, steers, and wears rubber.
We’ve fitted and sourced tyres for every major forklift brand in South Africa, including the full Doosan range. We know the build specs. We know which compounds hold up in Gauteng conditions and which ones don’t last the season.
High altitude, mixed surfaces, industrial areas that punish a cheap tyre fast. Johannesburg, Pretoria, Ekurhuleni, Midrand — we’re not sourcing from a global catalogue and hoping for the best. We know what works here.
We hold working stock of the high-movement Doosan sizes. For less common dimensions, we have supplier relationships that get things moving quickly. If we haven’t got it today, we’ll tell you exactly when we can.
You’ll know the tyre cost and the fitting cost before we do anything. No invoice surprises. If something changes, you hear about it before it happens.
A Doosan sitting idle is costing you money per hour. We prioritise turnaround for customers in that situation and give you a realistic timeline from the moment you call — not an optimistic one.
We can handle fitting and balancing through our service network. You don’t need to find a separate fitter. One call covers it.
Call 010 110 1819 or email sales@gpforklifts.co.za. Give us your Doosan model number, the current tyre size (it's on the sidewall of the existing tyre), and what surface the machine works on. Don't know the size? That's fine — we'll work it out with you.
We'll verify the right spec for your Doosan, give you a price, and confirm stock availability or lead time. For most enquiries during business hours, you'll hear back within a few hours.
Once you're happy, we process the order immediately. Collect from us in Gauteng or have it delivered to site. We'll keep you updated on timing — you won't have to chase us.
If fitting's required, we coordinate through our service network. We'll work around your operation to keep downtime short.
We record what we supply for each client. Next time you need Doosan tyres, one call and we're already halfway there. We're also happy to talk through tyre rotation, inspection intervals, and how to stretch the service life between replacements.
We’re based in Gauteng and cover the full province:
Outside Gauteng? We supply nationwide via courier and freight. KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, North West, Limpopo — give us a call and we’ll figure out the best way to get the tyres to you.
Pricing shifts depending on tyre type, size, and compound. Pneumatics for standard Doosan counterbalance forklifts start from around R1 200 per tyre for the smaller sizes — larger industrial dimensions sit higher depending on brand and spec. Solid tyres cost more per unit than pneumatics, but in a high-intensity indoor operation they’ll outlast them by a fair margin, which changes the maths. Cushion tyres are generally the most affordable of the three for smooth-floor warehouse use.
Your quote will cover the tyre price and — if fitting’s involved — the fitting cost. That’s it. No line items you didn’t ask for. We can also give you a read on whether you’re better off doing a full set or replacing individual tyres based on your current wear pattern. Sometimes you don’t need four. Sometimes you really do.
Call 010 110 1819 or email sales@gpforklifts.co.za — we aim to have pricing back to you the same day.
Ryan WiblinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had to do some major repairs to our forklift. Bob and the team at GP forklifts were absolutely unreal in their service and communication. The forklift was repaired at a very reasonable price and great care and effort was put into repairing everything and I'm quite convinced that the forklift is now running better than when we bought it new. We carry the high-movement Doosan sizes and can source the full range through our supplier network — D20 diesel, electric counterbalance, reach truck, the lot. If you’re not sure what your model needs, call us with the model number and we’ll look it up.
It’s printed on the sidewall of the tyre you’re running now. Something like 28×9-15 or 300-15. If the tyres are too worn to read, your Doosan model number is enough for us to pull the correct spec. Give us a call.
Pneumatics are air-filled and better on rough or outdoor surfaces — more give, better traction on uneven ground. Solids are puncture-proof and built for controlled indoor environments where you can’t afford downtime. Which one’s right depends on where your Doosan works. We’ll ask the right questions and give you a straight answer.
Stocked sizes: 24 to 48 hours in most cases. Less common Doosan dimensions depend on supplier availability — we’ll give you an accurate lead time when you enquire, not a best-case guess.
Yes. We can arrange fitting through our Gauteng service network. Just mention it when you enquire and we’ll build it into your quote from the start.
Yes. We send tyres across South Africa via courier and freight. If you’re in KZN, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, or the North West, get in touch with your location and what you need and we’ll sort out the delivery.
We only do forklifts. Fifty-three years of collective industry experience means we know the Doosan range properly — not just the part numbers. A generic supplier sells you a tyre. We tell you which tyre, why, and what to watch for with your specific machine and your specific working conditions.
More than most operators account for. Worn or incorrect tyres reduce traction, extend stopping distance, and put strain on the mast, axles, and chassis that builds up over time. South African OHS legislation requires forklifts to be maintained in safe working condition — tyres are part of that assessment. We can advise on wear limits and when it’s time to replace.
Tell us your Doosan model, where it works, and when you need the tyres. We’ll handle the rest — spec, pricing, supply, and fitting if you need it. Fifty-three years of forklift industry experience behind every call we take.
