A Linde forklift with a flat or worn tyre isn’t earning anyone money. It’s sitting. And in a busy warehouse or logistics yard, that’s a problem that tends to compound quickly.
GP Forklifts carries solid, pneumatic, and cushion tyres that fit the full Linde electric and counterbalance range. We’re based in Gauteng, we’ve been in the forklift industry for 53 years collectively, and our job is to get you the right tyre — specified correctly, priced honestly — so your machine is back running as fast as possible.
Call 010 110 1819 or drop us a line at sales@gpforklifts.co.za and we’ll confirm stock and pricing on the spot.
It’s a question worth getting right the first time. Put the wrong tyre type on a Linde — even the correct size — and you’re looking at accelerated rim wear, reduced stability, and potentially a warranty headache you didn’t budget for. Here’s how the main types break down.
These are the standard choice for Linde electrics running on sealed concrete. No inflation, no punctures, no checking pressures before a shift. The tyre bonds directly to the rim — once it’s on, it’s on until the rubber’s worn down to the wear indicator.
Indoor cold-storage operations in particular tend to favour solids because the floor conditions are consistent and the puncture risk from debris is low. Common solid sizes for Linde electric counterbalance models: 18×7-8, 21×8-9, 23×9-10, and 28×9-15.
Our solid forklift tyre range covers most Linde sizes — check availability or call to confirm.
If your Linde operates outdoors — on a loading yard, a building site, an uneven warehouse apron — pneumatics are what you need. They absorb surface irregularities that solid tyres transmit directly to the chassis and mast, which over time does real damage.
Air-filled pneumatics work well on clean outdoor surfaces. Foam-filled is a better call for yards where puncture risk is higher — you get the ride of a pneumatic without the flat tyre problem. For Linde diesel and LPG counterbalance models, common sizes include 7.00-12, 8.25-15, 28×9-15, and 355/65-15.
Cushion tyres are a solid rubber option that sits lower to the ground than a standard pneumatic. That lower profile matters on compact Linde electrics and reach trucks where aisle clearances are tight and the racking configuration doesn’t give you much room to move.
They’re an indoor-only product — put them on rough outdoor surfaces and they’ll wear unevenly and quickly. For smooth warehouse floors, though, they hold up well. Sizes like 200/50-10 and 18×7-8 in cushion configuration come up regularly for smaller Linde electrics.
Not every operation is neatly one or the other. A lot of South African logistics yards have forklifts crossing between a sealed warehouse floor and a rougher external apron throughout the day. Foam-filled tyres handle that kind of mixed use better than most alternatives — the pneumatic carcass gives you the ride absorption, the foam fill eliminates the puncture risk. We supply and fit foam-filled across a range of Linde-compatible sizes.
The size is moulded into the tyre sidewall. If it’s worn off or you’re not sure what you’re looking at, give us the Linde model number and we’ll cross-reference it. The sizes below cover the models we see most often in the Gauteng market.

There are plenty of tyre suppliers in South Africa. Most of them sell general tyres with a forklift section somewhere in the catalogue. GP Forklifts is different — the forklift industry is all we do. Our team doesn’t carry across from car tyres or truck tyres or agricultural equipment. Everything we know is forklift-specific, which means when we recommend a tyre compound or a size, it’s based on actual knowledge of how that machine loads, steers, and wears rubber.
Fifty-three years in the forklift industry isn’t a marketing number — it’s decades of our team working with every major brand in the South African market, including Linde, Toyota, Yale, Hyster, and others. We know what load ratings mean in practice. We know what happens when a tyre compound isn’t matched to the floor type. That knowledge tends to save clients money over time.
We keep the common Linde sizes in stock at our Gauteng premises. Same-day or next-day supply is usually achievable for standard sizes — which matters when a forklift is parked and a shift schedule is at risk. Call ahead and we’ll tell you exactly what’s available before you make the trip or place the order.
Before anything goes out the door, we verify that the tyre matches the Linde model it’s going on — dimensions, load rating, compound type. An incorrectly specified tyre is worse than no tyre at all in some cases. We’d rather spend two minutes confirming the spec than deal with a return and an unhappy customer.
You get a written quote. What’s on the quote is what you pay. There are no handling fees or admin charges that appear at invoicing. For clients running ongoing tyre replacement programmes, we can discuss volume pricing once we understand the scope.
We do both. You don’t need to find a separate fitting centre and coordinate between two suppliers. We press the tyre on correctly — seating matters, especially for solid and cushion types — and hand the wheel back ready to go.
Straightforward from start to finish. Here’s what to expect:
Call 010 110 1819 or email sales@gpforklifts.co.za. Give us your Linde model number, the tyre size (if you know it), and how many you need. If you're unsure of the size, the model number is enough to work from — we'll confirm the correct spec.
Written quote, usually within a few hours for stocked items. It'll show the unit price, fitment cost if applicable, and lead time. No vague estimates — if stock levels or lead times change before dispatch, we'll let you know.
Once you're happy with the quote, we confirm stock and book you in. Urgent orders jump the queue where we can accommodate it — just flag it upfront.
Collection from our premises or delivery, depending on what's arranged. If you're coming in for fitment, we'll agree on a time that keeps your machine's downtime as short as possible.
That's the whole point. For clients on a regular replacement cycle, we can keep track of your fleet's tyre condition and prompt you before worn rubber becomes a breakdown — rather than after.
Our primary supply area is Gauteng — Johannesburg, Pretoria, Ekurhuleni, Midrand, Centurion, Germiston, Kempton Park, and the surrounding industrial zones.
We’ve also supplied clients in KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape, and other provinces where local availability for specific sizes is limited. If you’re outside Gauteng, contact us and we’ll work out the logistics.

| Pricing Factor | Description |
|---|---|
| Size and Load Rating | Larger tyres with higher load ratings generally cost more due to increased material requirements and load-bearing capacity. |
| Tyre Type | Solid, pneumatic, and foam-filled tyres are priced differently, even when they fit the same rim size. |
| Compound Grade | Premium long-life compounds have a higher upfront cost but can reduce operating costs over time through extended service life. |
| Order Quantity | Bulk or multi-tyre orders often qualify for improved unit pricing and volume discounts. |
| Fitment Services | Tyre pressing, mounting, and installation are typically charged separately from the tyre supply cost. |
One thing worth knowing: the cheaper tyre isn’t always the cheaper choice. On a machine that runs two shifts a day, a tyre that wears out in six months ends up costing more annually than one that lasts fourteen. We’ll flag that kind of trade-off if it’s relevant to your situation.

Ryan WiblinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had to do some major repairs to our forklift. Bob and the team at GP forklifts were absolutely unreal in their service and communication. The forklift was repaired at a very reasonable price and great care and effort was put into repairing everything and I'm quite convinced that the forklift is now running better than when we bought it new. GP Forklifts operates independently — we’re not an OEM dealer. What we are is a supplier with 53 years of collective forklift industry experience behind us, which counts for quite a lot when it comes to getting the right tyre on the right machine. Every product we supply meets the dimensional and load spec your Linde needs. If anything’s unclear about fitment compatibility, our team will tell you straight.
For sizes we carry in stock, same-day or next-day supply is the norm. If something is urgent, call us on 010 110 1819 and we’ll tell you exactly what’s available and how fast we can get it to you — no guessing games. Lead times for non-standard sizes vary, but we’ll be upfront about that from the start.
We keep stock across the most common Linde sizes — 18×7-8, 200/50-10, 21×8-9, 23×9-10, 7.00-12, 8.25-15, 28×9-15, 355/65-15, and a few others. Can’t find your size on the sidewall? Give us your Linde model number. We’ll cross-reference it and confirm the right spec before anything gets ordered.
Short version: solid tyres for smooth indoor floors, pneumatics for outdoor or rough surfaces, cushion tyres for compact machines where height clearance matters. The longer answer depends on your specific Linde model and what surfaces it’s running on daily. Call us and we’ll give you a proper recommendation rather than a generic one.
Yes — supply and fitment. Once your order’s confirmed we’ll sort a fitting time that works around your operation. You can also drop the wheel off at our premises if that’s easier. Contact sales@gpforklifts.co.za to discuss what makes sense for your setup.
Honestly? The depth of experience in the team. Fifty-three years in the forklift industry means we’ve seen what happens when the wrong tyre goes on a machine — and we know how to avoid it. You’re not dealing with a general parts counter. You’re talking to people who work specifically in forklifts, day in and day out.
Tyres are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty against defects. If something fails that shouldn’t, we handle the replacement process — you don’t need to chase the supplier directly. Specific warranty terms vary by product, so ask our team when you’re placing your order and we’ll make sure you’ve got the full picture.
If a Linde forklift in your operation needs tyres — whether it’s one machine or a fleet replacement — get in touch and we’ll turn it around as quickly as the stock allows.
Fifty-three years in the industry means we’ve seen most scenarios. We’ll give you an honest answer on what fits, what it costs, and how fast we can have it ready.
