Hyundai forklifts are all over South African warehouses and yards. Reliable machines, good load ratings, and they tend to last — but the tyres don’t last forever. They wear, they crack, and occasionally they go down at the worst possible moment.
GP Forklifts has been working in the forklift industry for 53 collective years. We supply solid forklift tyres, pneumatic tyres, and cushion tyres for the full Hyundai range — from the smaller 1.5-tonne counterbalance models right up to the 7-tonne machines. We confirm the correct size, we stock what we sell, and we fit it properly.

Most Hyundai counterbalance forklifts working indoors end up on solid resilient tyres. And there’s a straightforward reason for that. Punctures aren’t a risk. Your machine doesn’t go down mid-shift because someone ran over scrap steel or a broken pallet nail. For operations running two or three shifts a day, that matters more than people realise until it happens to them.
Solid tyres are press-fitted and bonded to the rim. Done properly, they sit flush, they don’t separate, and they perform on smooth concrete — or on the less-than-smooth patches between loading bays that every warehouse seems to have somewhere.
We carry solid tyres for the full range of Hyundai light and medium counterbalance models. Browse our solid forklift tyre range to see available sizes, or call us and we’ll confirm the right fit for your machine.
If your Hyundai is running outside — gravel yards, uneven loading aprons, construction sites, anywhere that hasn’t seen a paving crew in a while — you need pneumatic tyres. Air-filled pneumatics give you the cushioning and grip that solids can’t provide on rough ground.
We also stock foam-filled pneumatics. Not quite as soft a ride as air-filled, but you won’t be changing a flat at 6am on a Monday. For operations where puncture risk is constant, it’s worth considering.
Hyundai’s HBF electric counterbalance range — and a few of their older compact models — runs on cushion tyres. Press-on solid rubber, designed for hard flat surfaces, sits lower to the ground than a standard solid. That lower profile improves the centre of gravity on electric machines and helps with turning in tighter spaces.
Before we put anything on the press, we confirm the correct size. Electric models have specific fitment requirements and getting it wrong isn’t something we’re willing to do.
The size you need is usually moulded right into the sidewall of the tyre that’s coming off. It’ll read something like 7.00-12 or 28×9-15 — give us that number and we can confirm stock and pricing without any back-and-forth. If the tyre’s too worn to read, your Hyundai model number works just as well.

Not sure which size fits your machine? Give us your Hyundai model and serial number and we’ll confirm the correct fitment before anything is ordered. Call 010 110 1819 or check our full forklift tyre range on the website.
That’s not something we throw in to fill a line. It’s the real, accumulated experience of the people on our team — people who’ve watched Hyundai forklifts come into the South African market, tracked how they perform across different environments, and learned what the machines actually need. When you ask us which tyre will hold up on your operation, you’re getting an answer based on years of seeing what works.
Too many South African operators have sat through the “it’s on order” conversation. Weeks pass. The machine sits idle. Production takes the knock. We hold stock of the most in-demand Hyundai tyre sizes so that conversation doesn’t have to happen. Less common sizes get an honest lead time — not an optimistic one.
An incorrectly pressed tyre is a safety problem. Not just an inconvenience. We use the correct tooling for each rim and tyre combination, check bead seating, ply rating, and load rating compliance before we sign off, and we don’t rush because the workshop is busy. That should be standard practice. It isn’t always.
We quote on what you need. Not on a list price that’s been sitting unchanged for eighteen months, and not on whatever gives us the best margin on a quiet week. Give us your Hyundai model or tyre size and you’ll get a real number, quickly, with no vague estimates on top.
Johannesburg, Pretoria, the East and West Rand — that’s our primary territory. But we’ve supplied Hyundai tyres to clients in KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape, and the Northern Cape more times than we can count. If you’re outside Gauteng, call us. Delivery logistics are usually workable.
We try to keep this as uncomplicated as possible. You shouldn’t have to spend half a day chasing a tyre quote.
Call 010 110 1819 or email sales@gpforklifts.co.za. Give us the Hyundai model and the size off the sidewall if you can read it. Don’t know the size? That’s fine — a model and serial number is enough to work from.
We confirm the right tyre spec for your machine and check stock. You get a quote covering the tyre and any fitting or delivery charges — itemised, no add-ons at the end.
Accept the quote and we reserve your tyres. For clients bringing machines or wheels in, solid tyre press-ons are typically same-day, depending on workload. We’ll confirm the timing when we schedule.
The tyres go on the press with the correct tooling for the rim size and tyre type. After fitting, we check bead seating, alignment, and load rating compliance before the wheel goes back on. That check isn’t optional.
Your Hyundai goes back to work. If we’ve fitted tyres across a fleet, we keep a record of sizes and fitment dates — which makes your next replacement cycle faster and simpler.
Our main service area is Gauteng — Johannesburg, Pretoria, Centurion, Boksburg, and out across the East and West Rand. We also supply clients nationally in KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga.
For clients outside the province, delivery options depend on the order size and location. Large fleet orders often make national logistics more straightforward. Contact us and we’ll work out what’s practical.
Tyre pricing moves. Exchange rates, import costs, shipping — it all affects what you pay, and any supplier who tells you otherwise hasn’t been in this industry very long. What we can give you is a clear picture of how pricing tends to sit.
We don’t publish a fixed list — prices shift too often for that to be useful. Contact us with your Hyundai model or tyre spec and we’ll have a real quote back to you the same day.
| Pricing Factor | Impact on Hyundai Forklift Tyre Pricing |
|---|---|
| Machine Size & Capacity | Tyres for smaller Hyundai models such as the 15L-7A and 18L-7A are generally more affordable than tyres for 5-tonne or 7-tonne forklifts due to their smaller size and lower material requirements. |
| Tyre Type | Solid, pneumatic, foam-filled, and cushion tyres are priced differently depending on their construction and application. |
| Tyre Size & Ply Rating | Pneumatic tyre pricing varies according to tyre dimensions and ply rating requirements. |
| Foam Filling | Foam-filled tyres carry a higher upfront cost than standard pneumatic tyres but can reduce downtime in environments with frequent puncture risks. |
| Application Environment | The operating surface and work conditions influence the most suitable tyre option and overall cost. |
Tyre Type Comparison
| Tyre Type | Typical Application | Pricing Position |
|---|---|---|
| Solid Resilient Tyres | Hyundai counterbalance forklifts operating on indoor hard surfaces | Excellent long-term value and durability |
| Pneumatic Tyres | Outdoor yards, uneven terrain, and mixed-surface applications | Priced according to size and ply rating |
| Foam-Filled Pneumatic Tyres | Sites with high puncture risk such as construction, scrap yards, and recycling facilities | Premium pricing due to foam-fill process |
| Cushion Tyres | Hyundai electric HBF-series forklifts | Typically the most affordable option per tyre |

Ryan WiblinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had to do some major repairs to our forklift. Bob and the team at GP forklifts were absolutely unreal in their service and communication. The forklift was repaired at a very reasonable price and great care and effort was put into repairing everything and I'm quite convinced that the forklift is now running better than when we bought it new. Look at the sidewall of the tyre that’s coming off. The size is moulded into the rubber — something like 7.00-12 or 8.25-15. That’s all we need. If the tyre is too worn to read, give us the Hyundai model and serial number and we’ll pull the spec ourselves.
Yes. We supply tyres for older Hyundai counterbalance models through to the current 7A series and the HBF electric range. If you’re running something less common, call us directly — we’ll either have the size or give you an honest lead time on sourcing it.
Solid tyres are solid rubber. They can’t puncture. They’re the right call for Hyundai machines operating on hard, flat indoor surfaces. Pneumatic tyres — air or foam-filled — absorb rough ground and are suited to outdoor or mixed-surface use. Short version: indoors on concrete, solid. Outside on gravel or uneven ground, pneumatic.
A solid tyre press-on is typically two to four hours per machine, depending on how many tyres and what the workshop schedule looks like that day. We’ll confirm an accurate turnaround when you book — not an estimate that falls apart on the day.
Yes. The HBF15, HBF18, HBF20, and HBF25 all have cushion tyre specs we carry — common sizes include 18×7-8, 21×8-9, and 23×9-10. Give us the model number when you enquire.
We’re based in Gauteng but we’ve supplied Hyundai tyres to clients in KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape, Limpopo, and beyond. Call us to discuss what’s involved for your location — for larger orders it’s usually straightforward to arrange.
Yes. The tyres we supply are matched to the load rating, ply rating, and dimensional requirements for each Hyundai model. We don’t press and check later — fitment suitability is confirmed before the work starts.
Same day in most cases. Call 010 110 1819 or email sales@gpforklifts.co.za with your Hyundai model or tyre size and we’ll get back to you quickly.
Worn tyres don’t announce themselves. They wear down slowly, then fast — and a tyre that goes during a busy shift creates problems that ripple through the rest of the day. If you know your Hyundai’s tyres are overdue, this week is better than next.
We’ve been in the forklift industry for over 53 collective years. We know forklift tyres, we stock what Hyundai operators need, and we fit it properly.
