Solid tyres are the most common choice for Linde counterbalance forklifts operating in Johannesburg’s warehouses and distribution centres. They’re puncture-proof — there’s no air inside to lose — which means you’re not dealing with flat tyres mid-shift when a piece of metal off a broken pallet finds its way under a wheel.
02
If your Linde forklifts work outside — in a yard, on a construction site, or moving between covered and uncovered storage — pneumatic tyres give you the grip and shock absorption that solid tyres can’t match on rough or uneven ground.

Linde’s electric forklift range — particularly their reach trucks and order pickers — is designed for high-efficiency, energy-conscious operations. Polyurethane tyres fit this picture well. They’re lighter than rubber, have lower rolling resistance, and are gentle on polished or epoxy-coated warehouse floors.
If you’re running Linde electric machines in a cold storage or food-grade facility around Midrand or Centurion, polyurethane tyres are worth considering. They don’t mark floors, generate less debris, and often outlast standard rubber in light-to-moderate load conditions.
Our technicians have worked on Linde forklifts for years. We understand their wheel mounting systems, the torque specs for fitting, and the tyre compounds that hold up best under the specific loads Linde machines typically carry. This isn’t general tyre fitting — it’s forklift-specific work done properly.
Our workshop is in Sebenza, Edenvale, which puts us in the middle of Gauteng’s industrial corridor. Ekurhuleni, Germiston, Isando, Boksburg, Midrand, Sandton — we cover all of it. We can come to your site for fitting, or you can bring the machine to us if it’s moving.
Waiting two weeks for a tyre to arrive from overseas while your Linde sits idle is a real problem for production schedules. We carry stock of the most common Linde tyre sizes. Same-day or next-day availability on standard sizes is genuinely possible for most Gauteng locations.
We’ll tell you the right tyre for your application and your budget. If a mid-range solid tyre does the job, we’ll say so. We’d rather you call us again in two years for a replacement than oversell you something you don’t need.
With 135% procurement recognition, we qualify as a preferred supplier under South Africa’s B-BBEE framework. For procurement teams at larger operations, this matters when selecting service providers.
When you call for a quote on Linde forklift tyres, you get a price that includes the tyre and the fitting. No hidden callout fees added later.
Call 010 110 1819 or send an email to sales@gpforklifts.co.za. Let us know your Linde model (or the current tyre size if you have it), the number of tyres needed, and your location. This usually takes five minutes.
We confirm tyre availability and give you a full quote — tyre cost plus fitting. No vague ranges. If we need to source a specific size, we’ll tell you the lead time clearly. Most standard Linde tyre sizes are in stock.
We can come to your site anywhere in Gauteng, or you can deliver the machine to our Sebenza workshop. On-site fitting means your other machines stay in operation and your staff don’t need to organise transport.
Our technicians fit the tyres correctly and do a quick visual check on the wheel hubs and any related components while we’re there. If we notice something that needs attention, we’ll flag it — no pressure, just good practice.
Depending on the number of tyres, most fitting jobs are completed the same day. We aim to get your Linde machine back into operation with as little disruption as possible.
We operate out of Sebenza, Edenvale, and supply and fit Linde forklift tyres across the full Gauteng industrial footprint: Ekurhuleni corridor: Edenvale, Germiston, Isando, Boksburg, Benoni, Kempton Park, Jet Park Johannesburg: Meadowdale, Linbro Park, Spartan, Wynberg, Marlboro, Chloorkop North: Midrand, Centurion, Pretoria industrial areas West: Industria, Alrode, Alberton We also service operations in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and North West, and supply forklift tyres to Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, and Botswana for cross-border clients. For urgent tyre requirements, call 010 110 1819 directly — we'll let you know same-day what we can do for your location.
We also service equipment in Port Elizabeth, East London, Bloemfontein, Polokwane, and Nelspruit. Response times are longer in these regions – typically same-day or next-day depending on call timing and technician availability. For scheduled maintenance, we coordinate visits efficiently to service multiple sites during single trips, keeping costs reasonable.
Some operations exist in genuinely remote areas: mines, agricultural facilities, or specialised industrial sites far from major centres. We handle these situations with advance scheduling, ensuring our technician arrives fully prepared with all likely parts and tools needed. Travel costs apply, but we minimise these by coordinating multiple maintenance activities during each visit.
Larger facilities sometimes benefit from having a GP Forklifts technician based on-site several days weekly or even full-time. This arrangement makes sense for operations running 20+ forklifts where maintenance demands justify dedicated coverage. We discuss these options during initial assessments when fleet size suggests this approach could reduce overall costs.
Linde Material Handling produces some of the most widely used forklifts in South Africa's warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing sectors. Their reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, and order pickers are common across Ekurhuleni, Germiston, Midrand, and the wider Gauteng industrial belt. But good machines still need the right rubber underneath them.
At GP Forklifts, we stock tyres in sizes that fit Linde's most commonly operated models. Whether you're running a Linde E-series electric counterbalance, an H-series LPG machine, or a reach truck in a narrow-aisle racking environment, we can tell you exactly what tyre suits your application and get it fitted without pulling your machine out of service any longer than necessary
The wrong tyre on a Linde isn't just an operational inconvenience. It affects load stability, puts strain on the mast and transmission, and — particularly on wet warehouse floors common here in Johannesburg — increases the risk of slippage. Getting the correct spec fitted correctly makes a real difference to daily operations and long-term machine health.
We stock a full range of sizes including 18x7-8, 21x8-9, 23x9-10, 28x9-15, 5.00-8, 6.00-9, 6.50-10, and 8.25-15, among others. If your Linde runs a size we don't have in stock, we can source it and give you a realistic lead time upfront.
Ryan WiblinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had to do some major repairs to our forklift. Bob and the team at GP forklifts were absolutely unreal in their service and communication. The forklift was repaired at a very reasonable price and great care and effort was put into repairing everything and I'm quite convinced that the forklift is now running better than when we bought it new. Pricing depends on the tyre type, size, and number of tyres being replaced. Solid press-on tyres for standard Linde counterbalance forklifts typically fall in the R1,500–R4,500 range per tyre, depending on size and compound. Polyurethane tyres for electric machines vary by diameter and application. Pneumatic tyres sit in a broader range depending on whether they're air-filled or foam-filled. Fitting is charged separately and depends on whether we come to your site or you bring the machine to us. We'll include this in your quote upfront. What affects the final cost: Tyre type (solid, pneumatic, polyurethane) Tyre size and load rating Number of tyres On-site vs workshop fitting Location and distance for mobile callouts We accept EFT, and accounts are available for established business customers. A deposit may be required for large orders or sourced tyres. [Get your custom Linde tyre quote — call 010 110 1819 →]
We stock tyres for the most commonly operated Linde models in South Africa, including counterbalance, reach truck, and order picker variants. If you give us your tyre size or model number, we can confirm availability straight away. For less common sizes, we can source and give you a lead time.
For solid tyres, the standard guideline is replacement when the tyre has worn to within about 50% of its original tread height, or when you see chunking (pieces of rubber breaking off), cracking, or flat spots developing. Flat spots on Linde electric machines are common when the machine stands stationary for extended periods. Any visible structural damage is also a reason to replace.
A comprehensive service includes hydraulic system inspection and fluid top-up, complete brake system check and adjustment, chain and mast examination, tyre inspection and pressure check, battery connections and charging system test (electric units), engine tune and filter replacement (combustion units), safety feature testing, and load test to verify capacity. We also note any developing issues requiring future attention. The whole process takes 2-4 hours depending on equipment condition and any additional work identified.
Absolutely, and we maintain detailed service records that preserve warranty coverage. Some warranties require servicing by authorised dealers, though many simply require professional maintenance documentation. We’ll review your warranty terms during assessment to ensure our servicing meets all requirements. In some cases, we coordinate with dealers to maintain warranty compliance while providing more responsive local service.
For maintenance contract customers in our primary service areas (Gauteng, KZN, Western Cape, Eastern Cape), we commit to 4-hour emergency response during business hours, next-day response after hours. Non-contract customers receive service as technician availability allows, typically same-day or next-day. Remote areas naturally take longer – we’re honest about realistic response times rather than making promises we can’t keep.
For major repairs requiring workshop time, we arrange temporary replacements when available from our rental fleet. Availability isn’t guaranteed – we prioritise based on operational urgency and existing commitments. This service is included for premium maintenance contracts and available at daily rental rates for other customers. Many repairs happen on-site during scheduled maintenance, eliminating downtime entirely.
We never pressure customers into unnecessary work. When significant repairs are needed, we explain what’s failing, what happens if you defer the work, safety implications, and cost to repair versus replace. Sometimes the sensible decision is retiring old equipment rather than investing heavily in repairs. We provide honest advice based on your operational needs and budget constraints, not what generates the highest invoice.
Certainly – many customers start with call-out service to evaluate our work before committing to contracts. When you’re ready to switch, we conduct a thorough fleet assessment to establish baseline equipment condition, then propose appropriate contract terms. Existing equipment issues might need addressing before starting preventative maintenance programs, ensuring you’re not paying for regular servicing while dealing with accumulated neglect.
