Hyster Forklift Parts in South Africa – Genuine Parts, Expert Support

When your Hyster forklift breaks down, you need parts fast. We’ve been doing this for 53 years, and we know exactly what happens when a forklift sits idle – it costs you money every single hour. That’s why we keep proper stock levels of genuine Hyster parts and work hard to get them to you quickly. Our people have spent decades working on these machines, so when you call, you’re talking to someone who actually knows what they’re looking at.

Call us on 010 110 1819 or send an email to sales@gpforklifts.co.za. If we’ve got the part in stock and you order before midday, we can usually get it despatched the same day.

What We Supply for Your Hyster Forklift

01

Genuine OEM Hyster Parts

Look, we only sell genuine Hyster parts. Not aftermarket stuff, not pattern parts – the real thing. These are the exact same components that came in your forklift when it rolled off the production line. Engine bits, transmission parts, hydraulics, electrics – if it’s on a Hyster, we can get it.

Why does this matter? Because we’ve seen what happens when people try to save a few rand on cheap alternatives. They don’t fit right. They break sooner. Sometimes they void your warranty. And then you’re back to square one, except now you’ve wasted time and money on parts that didn’t work. Genuine parts cost a bit more upfront, sure, but they actually last.

02

Emergency Breakdown Parts

There’s nothing worse than a forklift that’s out of action. Every hour it sits there broken, you’re losing productivity and probably scrambling to work around it. That’s why we treat urgent orders differently – we’ll prioritise getting your part out the door.

If you’ve got a breakdown, phone us straight away. Tell us what’s wrong (or what you think is wrong), give us your forklift’s serial number, and we’ll work it out from there. If we stock the part, we can have it on a courier the same day to Gauteng, Durban or Cape Town. Sometimes our guys can even help diagnose the problem over the phone if you’re not 100% sure what’s failed.

03

Regular Service and Maintenance Parts

Your Hyster needs regular servicing – that’s just how it is. Filters clog up, fluids need changing, belts wear out. We sell complete service kits that have everything you need for the scheduled maintenance intervals. No missing around trying to source individual filters from different suppliers.

If you’re running multiple forklifts, we can sort out a schedule so parts arrive when you need them. Saves you the hassle of suddenly realising halfway through a service that you’re missing a filter. Plan ahead and the whole job goes smoother.

04

Wear Parts and Replacements

Some parts just wear out over time. Fork tips get damaged, tyres go bald, chains stretch, brakes wear down. It’s normal wear and tear, but you can’t ignore it – these things become safety issues if you leave them too long.

We stock all the common wear items because we know you’ll need them eventually. Damaged fork tips can drop loads or scratch up your goods. Worn tyres make the whole machine unstable. A stretched chain is dangerous. Better to replace these things before they cause bigger problems or hurt someone.

05

Help Finding the Right Part

Not sure what part you need? That’s actually pretty common, especially with older models or when something breaks in an unusual way. Give us a call and we’ll figure it out together.

Send us some photos of the broken bit, give us your forklift’s serial number, or just describe what’s going on. Our people know these machines well enough to work backwards from symptoms to find the part. We’ve got all the old parts catalogues too, so even if a part number has been superseded or changed, we can cross-reference it and get you what actually fits your model.

06

Fleet Parts Management

Running a fleet is different from managing one or two forklifts. You’ve got multiple machines on different service schedules, different wear patterns, and then someone always breaks down at the worst possible time.

We work with a few fleet managers to help them think through what makes sense to keep on hand versus what to order as needed. High-turnover items like filters? Maybe keep some stock. Expensive transmission components that rarely fail? Order when needed. There’s no point tying up cash in parts that’ll sit on a shelf for years, but you also don’t want to be caught out when something critical breaks.

Why Businesses Keep Coming Back to Us

We Actually Know Forklifts

Our team has 53 years of combined experience working with forklift equipment. That’s not general mechanical work – that’s specifically forklifts. We’ve diagnosed thousands of problems, fitted thousands of parts, and seen what works and what doesn’t. When you ring us, you’re not talking to someone reading off a screen. You’re talking to people who’ve actually had their hands dirty working on these things.

We Get South African Conditions

Forklifts here in South Africa deal with conditions you don’t read about in the overseas manuals. Dust gets into everything and clogs filters faster. Load shedding plays havoc with battery-powered models. Summer heat stresses hydraulic systems. We stock and recommend parts knowing how they’ll actually hold up in real South African working environments, not just what the manual says.

Only Genuine Parts, Every Time

Every single Hyster part we sell is genuine OEM. We don’t stock cheaper alternatives because we’ve seen them cause problems. Yes, genuine parts cost more. But they fit properly the first time, they last longer, and they don’t void warranties. Over the life of your forklift, that’s better value – even if the invoice looks higher initially.

Quick Turnaround When It Matters

We keep good stock levels of the parts that people actually need, and we’ve got reliable suppliers for the specialist stuff. Most routine parts go out same-day if you order before lunch. For parts we need to bring in, we’ll tell you honestly how long it’ll take – not what we think you want to hear, but what we actually expect. If we say Tuesday, it’ll be Tuesday.

Technical Support That Makes Sense

We don’t just process orders. If you’re not sure what’s broken, we’ll help you work it out. If you’re wondering whether to repair something or replace it, we’ll give you straight advice based on what we’d do if it was our forklift. Sometimes a quick phone conversation saves you hours of mucking about trying to diagnose problems yourself.

No Surprises on Price

We quote you the full price – part cost, VAT, delivery – right at the start. If something changes between quote and delivery (exchange rates move, supplier prices jump), we’ll phone you before going ahead. You won’t get an invoice that’s suddenly 20% higher than what we discussed. That sort of thing ruins trust, and we’ve been doing this long enough to know that trust matters more than any single sale.

How to Get Parts from Us

Step 1: Get In Touch

Phone 010 110 1819 or email sales@gpforklifts.co.za and tell us what you need. If you know the part number, great – we’ll double-check it’s right for your model. If you’re not sure, just give us your forklift’s serial number and explain what’s wrong or what needs replacing. Photos help a lot if you can send them.

How long: Usually 15 to 30 minutes during business hours to identify the part and check what we’ve got.

Step 2: We Send You a Quote

We’ll confirm the right part, check if we’ve got it in stock, and send you a proper quote with the part price, VAT, and delivery cost all broken down. If we need to order it from suppliers, we’ll tell you the real lead time – not an optimistic guess. For stuff we stock, we’ll let you know if same-day despatch is possible.

How long: Stock items within half an hour. Things we need to check with suppliers might take a few hours.

Step 3: Place Your Order

Once you’re happy with the quote, we’ll get the order moving. We take EFT, credit cards, or you can open an account if you’re a regular customer. For urgent stuff, we can sometimes arrange courier collection while your EFT payment is processing – just ask.

How long: About 15 to 20 minutes once payment comes through.

Step 4: Parts Get Despatched

Stock items ordered before midday go out same-day by courier to the main centres. You’ll get tracking details once it’s on its way. If you want to collect, parts are usually ready within two hours. Bigger or heavier items might need freight – we’ll sort that out for you.

How long: Joburg, Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town typically get deliveries next business day. Other areas usually 2 to 3 days.

Step 5: Fitting Support

When your parts arrive, you’re not on your own. Ring us if you hit any snags fitting them. We can walk your mechanic through the installation, suggest what tools you’ll need, or line up one of our technicians if the job’s too complicated to tackle yourself.

How long: Technical support during business hours, usually get back to you within 15 minutes.

Industries We Work With:

We supply Hyster parts to warehouses, factories, building sites, retail distribution centres, farms, ports, mining operations – basically anyone using Hyster material handling gear. Doesn't matter what industry you're in. If you're running a Hyster forklift, we can help.

What Hyster Parts Cost

How Pricing Works Hyster parts prices vary quite a bit depending on what you need, which model you've got, and what suppliers are charging at the time. Small stuff like filters might be a few hundred rand. Big components like engines or gearboxes run into the tens of thousands. We price everything individually based on current costs.

Things That Affect What You'll Pay:

• Part complexity – Electronic bits cost more than basic mechanical parts • How old your model is – Older forklifts sometimes need parts that aren't made anymore • How fast you need it – Express courier costs more • How many you're ordering – Buying in bulk often works out cheaper per unit • Size and weight – Heavy stuff needing special freight adds delivery costs

Why Genuine Parts Are Worth It:

Getting a Quote

Contact us with your forklift details and what you need. We'll send you a breakdown showing the part price, VAT, and delivery separately. Quotes are good for 30 days unless supplier prices change dramatically. If you need a formal quote for your purchasing department, just ask. Why Genuine Parts Are Worth It: Look, cheap aftermarket parts seem like a bargain until they break three months later or cause other damage. Genuine Hyster parts cost more because they're made to proper specs, from better materials, and actually tested. They last longer, fit right, and keep your warranty intact. Over time, that works out cheaper than repeatedly replacing dodgy parts.

Preventative Maintenance Contracts

Most businesses find contracted maintenance more cost-effective than paying per call-out. Our quarterly maintenance contracts start around R2,800 per forklift annually, including four comprehensive service visits, priority emergency response, and discounted parts pricing. This works out significantly cheaper than four separate call-outs while providing better equipment reliability. Monthly maintenance programmes, recommended for high-use equipment, start around R850 per month per forklift. These intensive programmes catch problems early and maximise equipment lifespan, often paying for themselves through prevented breakdowns and extended component life.

What Affects Maintenance Costs

Several factors influence what you'll actually spend on forklift maintenance: Equipment age makes a massive difference – older forklifts need more frequent parts replacement and take longer to service as components wear and adjustments become necessary. A ten-year-old forklift typically costs 40-60% more to maintain than three-year-old equipment. Usage intensity matters just as much as age. A forklift running single shift in a clean warehouse costs less to maintain than equipment operating double shifts in dusty, demanding conditions. We can estimate maintenance costs reasonably accurately once we understand your operational reality. Equipment type also factors in. Electric forklifts generally require less maintenance than diesel or LPG units – fewer moving parts and no engine tuning needed. However, battery replacement represents a significant eventual cost that combustion equipment doesn't face.

Payment Options and Terms

We offer flexible payment arrangements to suit different business needs. Maintenance contracts can be paid monthly, quarterly, or annually – longer commitments receive modest discounts. For call-out work, payment is due within 30 days of invoice. Larger repairs sometimes involve significant parts costs. We can arrange staged payments for major overhauls or component replacements exceeding R20,000, particularly for long-term maintenance contract customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Everything we sell is genuine Hyster OEM. Same parts that went into new machines at the factory, made to the same specs. We don’t touch pattern parts or aftermarket alternatives because we’ve seen them cause too many headaches.

If we stock it and you order before lunch, we can despatch same-day to Joburg, Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town – you’d get it next business day. Need it even faster? We can arrange premium overnight courier for critical breakdowns (costs more but sometimes you’ve got no choice). Parts we need to order from suppliers usually take 3 to 5 business days.

Your forklift’s serial number is the big one – tells us exactly what model and spec you’ve got. If you know the part number already, that’s even better. Otherwise, just describe the component or what’s wrong, and send photos if you can. Our guys can usually work out what you need from decent photos and your forklift details.

Genuine Hyster parts have manufacturer warranties – usually 12 months against defects. If something fails because of a manufacturing fault during warranty, we’ll sort out a replacement under warranty terms. Normal wear and tear isn’t covered, but genuine parts typically last way longer than the warranty period anyway.

No problem. We’ve got parts catalogues going back years and can cross-reference old part numbers that have been superseded. If the original part’s not made anymore, we’ll find you the current equivalent that fits. This is where experience really counts – we know which newer parts work in older machines.

Check parts as soon as they arrive. If anything’s damaged, take photos and call us within 24 hours. We’ll arrange collection and replacement – no charge to you. That’s why we only use decent courier services with proper insurance.
